On September 9, 2010, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and black & Decker (U.S.) Inc. jointly announced a voluntary recall of the Chinese made black & Decker orbital sander.

The recalled Black & Decker orbital sander is orange and black. The product models ro400, ro400g, ro410, ro410k, ro410lw and fs3000ros are marked on the side labels, and the date codes 200701-200929 are marked on the bottom. "Black & Decker" is on the front. The track sander was sold in the United States from January 2007 to July 2009, with the unit price of 40 USD / set.

The number of recalled products is about 192000. The reason for the recall is that the black plastic pad (also known as the washer) of the track sander containing sandpaper is easy to fly out or break during use, and the flying washer or its fragments may cause the user or passer-by to scratch. So far, black & Decker (U.S.) Inc. has received 73 reports of gasket rupture or crushing, including 15 personal injuries.

To this end, the CPSC recommended that consumers immediately stop using the recalled orbital sander and contact Black & Decker (U.S.) Inc. to replace the gasket free of charge.
